Glove Box Systems for Oxygen-Sensitive Biological Samples
Review biological sample handling, material compatibility and sealed transfer requirements for controlled inert atmosphere workflows.

Biological Material Compatibility Review
Define the sample, handling method and atmosphere requirements before selecting a system. Inert gas compatibility, transfer conditions and cleaning requirements should be reviewed for the actual biological workflow.
Application-Matched Configuration
Controlled Sample Handling and Transfer
Etelux manufactures scientific inert gas glove box systems for oxygen- and moisture-sensitive laboratory processes. Discuss sealed transfer, equipment interfaces and operating requirements with the manufacturer. An inert gas glove box is not automatically a validated anaerobic culture chamber or medical containment system.
Monitoring and Environmental Requirements
- Define the oxygen, moisture and pressure monitoring needed for the proposed workflow.
- Review alarm, data recording and remote-access requirements against the confirmed configuration.
- Specify temperature and humidity requirements separately; availability must be confirmed for the intended system.
- Evaluate biological containment and culture conditions independently of inert atmosphere control.
How Inert Atmosphere Circulation Works
The working gas inside the glove box circulates in a closed loop between the box and the purification column (water and oxygen adsorber), under the control and monitoring of a PLC, via pipelines and a circulating fan. As the working gas circulates through the purification column, its moisture and oxygen content are adsorbed and then returned to the box. Over time, the water and oxygen content in the working gas inside the box gradually decreases, eventually reaching less than 1 ppm. The purification column becomes saturated after a certain period of circulation and can be regenerated for reuse.
